Weekend update 9/19

Another weekend has passed, one that was filled with soccer!  Here’s our update from Flyer Nation…..

Academy

The Academy traveled to Versailles for play dates versus Bluegrass SC.  Coaches were happy with the results at the end of the play dates.  They are happy with the improvements that they are seeing and encouraged by the kids’ attitudes.  Parents, remember to encourage all the kids during this process.  It will make huge differences with the betterment of the players.

07 Boys
Coach Andy’s 07 Boys team traveled to Elizabethton to participate in the Javanon Invitational where they finished as Runners-Up in their age division!  Well done, Flyers!  They were matched up with some really good teams and played hard in their championship game.  Coach Andy was thrilled with the showing.  Keep up the great work, boys!

Coach Aaron’s 07 Boys squad played in a nail-biter over the weekend and ended up losing 3-2 on a goal by the opposing team in the last seconds of the game.  Coach Aaron was pumped by the way the boys played and is excited with how the team is progressing.  Keep putting in the effort and you will see results, fellas!

06 Girls
Coach Hez’s 06 Girls team played two games over the weekend.  They lost a close one late to CSC at home on Saturday, and on Sunday, lost at Fusion FC.  They showed improvement in that they played much better versus the Fusion this time, better than their last showing.  Keep working hard, girls!

Coach Jeremy’s 06 Girls team was inactive this past weekend.  They continue to work at training on honing their skills and look forward to their next game.

06 Boys
Coach Rech’s team was in action twice over the weekend.  The team is down two players due to injuries, but they battled through.  On Saturday, they took on CK Storm Black at Lake Reba and won 8-1.  The team played really well and stepped up for those players injured.  On Sunday, the boys traveled to Winchester to take on FC Kentucky Bulls.   They ended up losing 3-1 in a very physical game, that had them playing without any subs for periods during the game.  Games like this will only benefit them once all the players are healthy again.

05 Boys
Coach Nash’s team, again, did not have any scheduled games this past weekend.  They are continuing with training sessions to be ready to roll for their next opponent.

05/06 Girls
Coach Jeremy’s 05/05 Girls squad played twice last weekend on Saturday in Cincinnati.  Although they were on the losing side in both games, they played extremely hard.  They are working on their game consistency and also learning to play with adversity.  This coming weekend, they are heading to Oak Ridge, TN to play in a tournament, so we want to wish them the best of luck!  Good luck, Flyers!

Continue to work hard, Flyers, and good things will happen!  Keep up the great work, coaches!  Go Flyers!
