subject to Board approval.  No age-ups are permitted from any age group into U10.

Number of Players

In U12 through U19 matches there shall be no more than eleven (11) players on the field for each team.  one of whom must be the goalkeeper (a team must have a minimum of 7 players on the field to compete).  Team make-up for the younger age groups include:

Substitutions

Substitutions are at the discretion of the referee and can be made during a stoppage of play which includes the following:

  1. At half-time
  2. In case of injury (the injured player may be substituted, and the opposing team may also substitute one player)
  3. Goal kick
  4. Throw-in (substitution only for team possessing the ball)
  5. Kick-off

Playing Time

Each player must play at least half of each game in the in-house program.  No child in attendance at any given session can play four quarters continuous until every child in attendance for that session has played at least three quarters.  Remember, everyone plays as equal an amount of time as possible, and each player in attendance must play at least half of the game.  The rotation of players is at the coaches’ discretion.  There will be an overriding concern for fair play and equal playing time.  Remember, however, that no coach can be held to exact time measurement.

Start of Game

The referee tosses a coin to determine which team attacks and the direction of play.  The ball is placed in the center of the center circle on the halfway line.  The kicking team can enter the circle in a kick-off formation but can not cross the halfway line until the ball is kicked.  The ball must travel forward before it can be touched by another player.  If this does not occur, the referee will restart the game.  The referee blows the whistle to signal the start of the game.

Game Cancellation

In cases of sever weather (lightning, thunder, snow, poor field conditions) the coaches will be informed of any postponement.  Otherwise, the players and coaches should routinely report to the fields regardless of the weather.  Members of the Board will cancel games at their discretion.

At the first sign of lightning during a game (or practice session), the game should be stopped.  Players are to immediately leave the field and seek shelter (not under trees).  If after 30 minutes the lightning has not stopped, the game is over.  The referee will cancel the game and has the final say.

All regularly scheduled games are to be played at their scheduled times.  The referees are assigned on Tuesday of each week.  Canceling a game affects more than your team and your opponent.  It also affects other teams practice schedules due to make-ups and referee scheduling.  Please, if at all possible, play at your scheduled time.

How to Reschedule a Game

  1. You should notify your opponent and the referee coordinator by telephone by 5:00 PM on the Monday before the game; but at least 3 days before the scheduled match.  In-House (canceling coach) should also call the coaches of the teams that are scheduled for the late game time slot to see if they would like to move up into the open earlier time slot.
  2. Rescheduling a canceled game.  The home team must contact the opponent and agree to at least two (2) mutual days and times.  Then, call the referee coordinator to schedule the field.  You must give at least three days notice to make up a game; this also applies to games canceled due to weather.
  3. Valid reasons for cancellation of a game include:
    1. Lack of enough players to field a team due to illness, school functions, or family obligations.
    2. Inclement weather or unsafe field conditions (as cancelled by the League).
    3. The coach AND assistant coach cannot make the game.
    4. Note:  Not having your best players available IS NOT A VALID REASON TO CANCEL A GAME.
  4. All cancellations must be made via telephone through the referee coordinator.

If you would like to know who is assigned to referee your game, forward your email address with Age division and name to the referee coordinator.
