Competitive Division (highest level of play currently offered by KASL)

This Division travels within the Western PA playing area (State College & West, Erie & South including northern WVA). Teams in this level of play are developed via try-outs and the team will remain together for the Fall & Spring seasons (some exceptions). Teams in this division will be encouraged to enter tournaments to further the player's exposure to soccer.

Division 4 Boys & Girls (Transitional League) This Division will play in the East District (District 1) Sunday Play. This is the highest level of play at the District Level.

Teams are developed via try-outs and generally remain together for the fall and spring seasons.

Players in this division are working to improve overall skills and strategies while playing at a high level. Coaches determine the players play time in this division.

Division 5 and 6 Boys & Girls (Recreational League) This Division will play in the East District (District 1) Sunday Play. This is the Entry level divisions within our District.

New Players are encouraged to start here where they work on skills and strategies and work towards moving up in division play.

We attempt to place all players who register in this division but in some instances this may not happen (example only one coach with twenty five players looking for a roster spot - we are limited on the number of player's per team based on the age group) (not enough players to field a full squad).

Players in Division 5 & 6 will receive 50% play time (no coach can be held to exact times) subject to absence, illness, injury or discipline.

NOTE: While every effort is made to find coaches this is not always possible and some players may not have a team to tryout for based on the players age. Some divisions may not have enough teams in our district to play which would require us to change divisions or age group or area we travel to. Many factors in travel will be determined by the district and not by Kiski Area Soccer League.

Try-Out Policy

  • Any currently existing travel team does not need to hold tryouts unless they are trying to fill a spot on their roster.

  • Only children who have participated in the tryout may be placed on a team.
  • Late registrants can only be placed on a team if there is room and only after everyone who tried out is rostered on a team.
