Thank you for considering signing your child up for soccer this season.
The In-House Program is for U4-U8 players as denoted by the US Youth Soccer Age Group Chart. This program is the starting point for most players and we teach them basic fundamentals and help develop a love for the game. The following is a brief overview of the program.
Season Schedule
All teams practices for the spring season generally start the last week of March and run through the first of June, and the fall season generally start the last week of August and run through the end of October. (These times can vary slightly year-to-year).
The Little Dribblers program (U4) will be every Tuesday starting at 5:30. Although we have professional trainers, this program is very dependent on parent participation!! The location of the practices is on the opposite side of the road as the concession stand, and beside the last shed on your right as you go around the bend. Please try to arrive at least 10-15 minutes early for games. A Legends trainer will run these sessions of foot skills and drills with a small scrimmage at the end of every practice. Note: This program does NOT have Saturday games - everything is on Tuesdays only!
All practices will be held at Northmoreland Park on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. In general, the location of the practices is past the BMX track at the top of the park. As you drive past the BMX track you will follow the road around the bend and you will see fields on your left and right. Note on your left side is our concession stand, and this landmark is used often as a reference point to meet with teams.
Games
Games take place on Saturday mornings with most games for U5-U8 occurring either at 9:30am or 10:30am.
Uniforms
We have switched to a reversible blue/white jersey for each player U5 and up. They are ordered and will be available to purchase when practices begin. The cost is approximately $18. They can be used season after season. Little Dribblers will still receive a shirt for participating.
Fundraiser
The fundraising committee will announce the fundraisers when we get closer to the season.
Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you to all of you that signed up to help in the many areas in past seasons. Kiski Area Soccer League cannot function without help from volunteers like you! Each year we are in need of several volunteer opportunities such as running Concessions, selling Spirit-wear, finding Sponsors and in addition we have needs for several positions within the organization to help fund the league such as In-House Field Coordinator, Website Maintenance, Coaching Coordinator, Travel Coordinator, and In-House Director.
Equipment
Your soccer star will need shin guards, a water bottle, a ball, and soccer cleats (not football or baseball) or sneakers. If your child needs cleats, please check out the donated bins at practices. Cleats are not required but we do have many sizes available to select from. For the levels U5 through U8 you will need a size 3 ball.
If you have any questions about the program or what to help out, please reach out to our In-House Director at [email protected].
We are affiliated with PAWest and US Youth Soccer therefore we follow their guidance on age groupings. For more information on the age group please see their age group matrix.
